Overview of DVRs Blackvue DR900S-2CH and DR900S-1CH

The DR900S is available in two versions: single-channel and dual-channel. Otherwise, these models are identical to each other. The new video sensor and higher resolution provided improved quality. They impress with their manufacturability and at the same time simplicity.

The previous models of BlackVue DVRs were featured, but they could not boast of outstanding quality. New models of the DR900S decided to fix this situation.

Technical "stuffing" of DVRs

If we consider the dual-channel DR900S-2CH, then the shooting capabilities are as follows: the front camera records in the Ultra High Definition (30 fps) or Full HD (60 fps) resolution, the back one records Full HD (30 fps).

Technical parameters are impressive:

The viewing angle is equal to 162 degrees — this means that 3.5 lanes of traffic with minimal distortion will enter the frame.

The new HiSilicon processor and bitrate up to 25 Mbit / s on the front camera and up to 10 Mbit/s on the back. Such parameters significantly improved the recording quality.

Used a new matrix from Sony for improved night shooting.

As for the improved quality, then we get not empty marketing statements, but real changes. For example, license plates can be seen very clearly even from afar.

New codec

BlackVue, if he decided to impress us with high quality, then he approaches this matter thoroughly. The front camera offers twice the best resolution of traditional cameras on Full HD 1080p. With such indicators, the manufacturer has a new task — to work on compression, so that the records can be placed on the microSD.

The company proposed a new standard — H265. DVRs also support the usual H.264 codec, but with the new development we got 4 times more and better image without damaging the recording time.

Wireless network

DVRs are equipped with Wi-Fi, using both the standard frequency of 2.4 GHz, and an improved 5 GHz for better data transfer speed. With the help of a wireless connection, you can change the settings, see the entries and save them to your phone.

There is also GPS for tracking the location and speed data. In the settings, you can disable automatic display of speed data on all entries. The location can be tracked using an official PC application.

Models are equipped with a G-sensor: in parking mode, recording starts only after the motion begins in the frame. The very same mode is activated after 10 minutes of "idle time" of the car without actions. The sensor has good sensitivity and is thus protected from false positives.

Available functionality

The Korean manufacturer has not bypassed and new technologies. DR900S-2CH and DR900S-1CH are equipped with a powerful set of available functions:

• Stealth mode — allows you to activate the hidden shooting mode by turning off all indicators and LEDs. Often, intruders are interested not so much by the car itself as accessories in it that can be sold.
• Overheat protection. Devices operate normally at temperatures up to +70 degrees. If this parameter is exceeded, the system is automatically turned off to avoid possible breakdowns.
• BlackVue Over The cloud is a cloud for accessing records on the network. You can configure automatic sending of files to the cloud: so they surely will not be lost anywhere.
• Protection of up to 50 files from overwriting.

DR900S-2CH and DR900S-1CH are the first 4K DVRs on our market. They offer, indeed, impressive opportunities and fully justify their price tag. A two-channel or single-circuit model is already a choice for the driver.
