The best option is Full HD, but choosing a good resolution is not a guarantee of quality shooting.

Viewing Angle

No less important parameter affecting the quality of the received record. The larger this parameter, the larger the area can get into the frame. The minimum value: 120 — horizontally, 145 — diagonally. But do not pursue too large values, because the fish eye effect may appear.

Mounting mechanism

In modern models there are two mounting options:

Vacuum sucker: feature is an easy position change if necessary, the ability to quickly remove the device.
Double-sided tape: a compact version that is less visible to scammers.

A good addition will be the ability to rotate the DVR 360 degrees to record all that is happening in the cabin if necessary.

Additional Functions

Modern models offer various solutions that extend the use of such devices:

Shock sensor: prevents rewriting of the video in case of possible collisions and sudden braking of the car
WDR: stabilizes individual overexposed areas, making the overall picture better.
GPS module: helps to fix your route and speed. You will be able to look all your way with a fixed speed at each point.
Sound signals, for example, if you go on a long journey, then a timer call will not let you fall asleep.
Motion detection: when motion begins in the frame, the video is recorded.
