Types of generators, depending on the type of alternator
The generator is a practical option for areas where there is no electricity or there are regular failures. Such structures are very popular among gardeners and gardeners. Various models are presented, which differ from each other in terms of power, dimensions, and also an alternative.
Рассмотрим подробнее, в чем особенности асинхронных и синхронных, одно и трехфазных генераторов.
Synchronous generators
In such units, the electric power is produced with the coincidence of the rotational speed of the stator and the rotor. Voltage stability is regulated by the operation of the AVR - automatic control unit. The advantage of this type of generator is a stable output voltage, but it is prone to overloads. Especially if the permissible load parameter increases regularly.
Synchronous alternators are ideal for electric motors, pumps, compressors. Such a mechanism is capable of producing a current exceeding the nominal value by a factor of 2.
Asynchronous generators
Such models are equipped with 2 types of rotor winding - short-circuited and phase. Asynchronous generators are protected from external influence, are insensitive to short circuits. Due to what, they are often used for welding work. In addition, they are well suited for powering computers, electric stoves, heaters and other equipment. For equipment that requires a high starting load, it is better to choose synchronous models.
Asynchronous devices do not cope with increased loads. But at the same time, they are quite low price. The design is often closed type, therefore internal mechanisms are protected from moisture and dust.
Three-phase and single-phase generator
The assumption of those who believe that one phase is worse than three is erroneous. The choice of the model must be made based on further operating conditions.
A three-phase generator is necessary in cases where three-phase devices need to be powered. These are often already old models of electric cookers or electric motors. Practically all modern technology is single-phase. In addition, three-phase units have one drawback: the load displacement should not be above 25% of the nominal value, which is equal to ⅓ of the total generator power.
Therefore, a single-phase generator with a power of 4.5 kW will be much more productive than a three-phase generator with 10 kW.
Inverter Generator
Inverter models are equipped with an electronic control unit, which generates electricity without voltage drops. Such devices are used for those who need only a nominal voltage.
This design works on a synchronous alternator in 3 stages: it produces a voltage with a frequency of 20 Hz. - forms a direct current of 12 V. - forms a rated current with a frequency of 50 Hz.
Depending on the impulse voltage at the output, inverter generators can be divided into the following types:
- With a rectangular impulse - typical for budget models. Suitable for construction sites. Practically not popular, because it has very limited possibilities.
- Trapezoidal impulse - can supply power to quite powerful devices, for example, a refrigerator. Not suitable for sensitive equipment.
- Sinusoidal impulse is a universal option, as it is suitable for any equipment. This voltage is stable and exactly corresponds to all the parameters of electricity.
Inverter generators have such advantages:
- Compact and light weight compared to models with the same power rating.
- Low noise even at peak loads, due to changes in rotor speed.
- Economical in fuel consumption due to electronic control. So, the generator produces exactly as much electricity as it needs at the moment. Also, the capacity is regulated depending on the operating conditions.
- Due to the synchronous alternator, inverters can briefly supply high-starting current to energy-intensive equipment.
Buy a generator in Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa it is possible on 130.com.ua with delivery across Ukraine.
Among the shortcomings can be allocated a short work without refueling - up to 8 hours.
All considered types of generators, except for inverter, can also be used in large generator systems. Your choice depends on the further operating conditions of the device.
