The tire pressure monitoring system can be installed on cars, trucks and motorcycles. The possibility of installation depends on the number of pressure sensors. For a motorcycle, there is enough system with two sensors in the kit, for a car or a jeep, 4 sensors are needed. For trucks, sensors may need more, up to 22 pieces, with 1 sensor per wheel.

There are 2 types of tire pressure sensors-caps and recessed sensors. The first ones are simply screwed onto the spool, and the second ones are embedded inside the wheel instead of the nipple.

All tire pressure information should be displayed. There are several types of displays in TPMS: a wireless display, a cigarette lighter display, and there are systems without a display at all. The latter, in turn, are connected to almost any other display, for example, to the display of the radio tape recorder. Wireless displays are powered by a built-in battery and can be made in the form of a key fob (just like a two-way key fob), or in the form of a conventional monitor with mounting on the windshield or torpedo.
