Recommendations for the replacement of some of them are not always indicated in the documentation for the transport, but this is not a signal that it does not have a useful life.

During the operation of any auto system, metal chips are formed, garbage that pollutes the liquid and prevents it from performing its functionality. No exception is the antifreeze-engine cooling system. Besides the fact that this fluid is designed to maintain a certain temperature, it is also necessary for heating the radiator of the heating system, as well as for lubricating pump parts in the cooling system.

While performing his work, the fluid loses its characteristics over time, so on average it needs to be changed about once every three years.

How to drain antifreeze?

Before you pour a new fluid, you need to get rid of the old, and do it right. Most cars are equipped with a special plug for this, it is located on one of the lower points of the system. If such an element is not provided in your car, then it will be necessary to disconnect one pipe of the cooling system

Note the following:

• It is recommended that all work be carried out on a horizontal surface. From the position of the car depends on the speed of removal of fluid and the accuracy of the whole process.
• You cannot start working with a hot motor.
• Drain antifreeze will take place in several stages, each of which is not recommended to be neglected.

After the car has cooled down, you need to unscrew the lid on the cooling system tank, drain plug or unplug the nipple and wait for antifreeze to drain . However, part of the fluid volume is below the drain hole, so the process must be carried out in two stages.

How to drain the remaining antifreeze?

You need to tighten the expansion tank cap, turn on the maximum heating of the passenger compartment and start the engine for up to 2 minutes. If the fluid does not flow out completely after this, repeat the process again after 15 minutes. Please note that it is impossible to allow the engine to operate for more than a specified period, because the design can finally break.

After draining the antifreeze, close the drain plug or fix the pipe and start to fill the new fluid.

How to pour a new antifreeze?

Fill the liquid to the maximum level of the expansion tank and screw the lid on, then start the engine. Now antifreeze is distributed in all cooling systems and the liquid level will be less.

After the antifreeze occupancy is minimal, you need to stop the engine and add the liquid again to the maximum level. This process must be repeated until the antifreeze decreases after the engine is running.
