How to choose a mechanical interlock
There are 3 most common types of mechanical interlocks-the lock on the gearbox, the lock on the steering shaft and the hood lock.
The hood lock will not allow the hijacker to turn off the siren and start the engine from under the hood.
The PPC blocker will not allow an attacker to move the vehicle from a place, even if it gets inside the cabin.
The steering lock completely blocks the operation of the steering shaft and eliminates the possibility of driving.
Mechanical interlocks are designed to protect the vehicle from penetration and theft. A good security complex must necessarily include blockers. Many motorists mistakenly believe that installing just one alarm will protect their car 100% of theft. The alarm will protect the car from intellectual hacking and may scare away small hooligans, but you should not wait for a full protection from the alarm system. Mechanical blocker can be bought on 130.com.ua with delivery to Kharkov, Odessa, Kiev and in Ukraine.

Locks for Gearbox
The principle of the gearshift lock is to lock the gearbox functions. Even if the hijacker can start the car, thanks to such a lock, he simply will not be able to budge him, as the gears will not be switched.
The main advantage of PPC locks is the ability to install them in very inconvenient places for dismantling. To deactivate such a lock, the hijacker will take a long time, and if the hijacker cannot quickly hijack a car, he will give up this case, since there are big risks of being caught.
Locks on the gearbox there are pin and pinless. A pin lock consists of a pin, which is inserted into the opening of the console and locks the gear lever. A pin lock also consists of a pin, but it is located inside the gearbox. Externally, it is invisible, only visible larva into which the key is inserted, with which the lock will be unlocked.
Locks on the hood
Lock on the hood will give you these benefits:
- - The hijacker will not be able to turn off the siren, thus a working siren will add a lot of trouble to the hijacker, and often if the siren cannot be turned off, the hijacker throws attempts to hijack a car.
- - Eliminates the possibility of bypassing the standard wiring of the car by throwing a “spider”. The attackers will not be able to start the car from under the hood using a universal ignition module.
- - If the engine lockout relay is installed under the hood, the hijacker will not be able to disable the engine lock.
- - No access to vehicle diagnostic connector. The hijacker could bypass the immobilizer using this connector.
Locks for gearbox and hood combine the functions of the above blockers.
Note
When choosing a mechanical interlock on a gearbox, it is necessary to take into account the exact year of manufacture, the make/name of the car and the type of transmission (automatic/mechanical, number of gears)

Car Alarms
To better protect the car from theft, it is recommended to use an integrated approach. Mechanical blockers will not allow an attacker to leave, and car alarms will protect the car from intellectual hacking and notify the owner of the attempted theft.
