What you need to know about autolamp color temperature?

Color temperature is one of the important characteristics of autolamps, which determines its emission spectrum. Many drivers think that the higher this indicator, the more powerful the light source. However, this is just a myth, because the color temperature determines the perception of color by the human eye. For example, the higher the score, the more blue and violet we get.

Let us analyze the main color temperature groups and their features.

What you need to know about autolamp's color temperature?

Lamps of warm colors

2400 K. — a rich yellow hue, which is most effective for traveling in bad weather. The advantage of this indicator is that the light does not diffuse, and therefore shows itself especially well in fog and rain.

3200 K. — color with a yellowish tinge, which can be found in almost all halogen lamps. Most often, such devices are used for head optics. The light provides good visibility even during bad weather.

Lamps with optimum temperature for daylight

4300 K. is a white light with a yellowish tinge. Most often found in xenon lamps. Provides good visibility in the absence of standard light sources and during bad weather.

5000 K. — the light is most reminiscent of daylight. It is found in xenon and some modern halogen lamps. It shows the best efficiency at night, because the elements emit a light beam that is most similar to the daylight.

6000 K. — snow-blue light. It can be found in xenon lamps, it shows itself well in the dark, but is less effective in bad weather.

What is prohibited for use in a car

8000 K. — blue light bulbs that cannot be used for daily use. May be used in exhibition vehicles, as they cannot provide good visibility in the absence of standard light sources.

10,000 K. — light with a blue-violet hue, which is more suitable for show cars.

12000 K. — light purple light, also used in exhibitions and show carts.

As you can see, the color temperature does not determine the quality of the lamp, but only shows what shade of the emitted light. When choosing a suitable design, keep in mind that the higher the indicator, the worse the visibility of the road. For frequent trips at night, it is better to choose lamps with a temperature of maximum 6000 K.
