All Blue Smart IP22 Charger chargers from the Dutch company Victron Energy have excellent performance characteristics. These are the latest generation of intelligent, fully automatic appliances. This model is designed to work with all types of 12-volt batteries: lead-acid, AGM, gel, EFB and lithium-ion.

The presence of a built-in Bluetooth module allows you to connect to the memory and monitor its operation remotely. By installing a special VictronConnect application on your mobile device, you can adjust the operating parameters at a distance if necessary. This is a very convenient and useful feature.

6 available charge modes

Built-in microprocessor allows you to adjust the processes when charging batteries in automatic mode. Adaptive control assumes that charging options will be regulated without user intervention. The charger can analyze the current actual technical condition of the battery and select the optimal conditions and modes for full restoration of the power source. A built-in temperature sensor is also provided.

There are six different charge levels:

Charge/test

In this mode, diagnostics are performed, the device determines the overall technical condition and the battery's ability to accept charge.

Filling

At this stage, the battery is recharged using maximum current until the absorption voltage is reached (the battery is 80% charged).

The device switches to charge mode with a constant voltage value. The current gradually decreases. Charging is up to 100% recovery capacity.

Restore

In this mode, heavily discharged and sulphated starter batteries return to working condition. The process involves the use of small currents.

Floating

This mode assumes voltage stabilization at which the battery is maintained in a charged state.

Storage

The mode can be used for long-term battery storage. At this stage, the device delivers a reduced fixed voltage to the battery, this allows not only to keep the charge, but also to reduce the likelihood of corrosion and gassing. At the same time, the device once a week activates an automatic absorption mode for an hour.

Li-ion battery recharging

This type of battery is charged using three standard modes in the following order: filling — absorption — floating.

Desulphation and Reduction Mode

Chargers in this series can bring back into service batteries that have been adversely affected by sulphation. To restore such a battery, the device conducts a cycle of charges with low currents, at which the sulfate is destroyed and the ability to accept charge returns. And after the voltage on the battery reaches the required level, the charger goes into normal charging mode, bringing the capacity to 100%.
