The Omni RS 550 radar detector has a huge range of functions and settings, and its quality is not inferior to more expensive models of radar detectors. The radar has a very high sensitivity and an ASG system for protection against extraneous signals, which allows the driver to safely move by car not only in Ukraine, but also in all European countries. This device allows the user to configure all the necessary functions as needed, which is not available in other radar models. Frequency counter function
Until recently, this function was possessed by more expensive models of radar detectors of the Canadian company Escort. This function is available in this radar detector. What sets it apart from other mid-range detectors. What does a frequency counter give? It can be used to distinguish between the reception of a radar or an extraneous signal.
Over speed
This is a very useful feature. Thanks to it, the driver himself can set the parameter of the permissible speed, according to the restrictions for the database point. Thus, you can select any of the following values: 0/5/10/15/18/20/30/40/50/60. There are also additional modes in which you can take into account the GPS error. Indeed, exceeding the speed limit by several kilometers is often the reason for the fine.
Geiger counter
This counter helps detect many types of radiation. The Geiger effect is automatically activated when the driver exceeds the speed limit. Therefore, there is no need to look at the screen — when approaching the OBD point, the device will signal an overspeed.
GPS alert
The memory device is loaded with locations where radars and cameras are installed. Thanks to the GPS module, the device determines the location of the car and notifies the driver about approaching a camera or signal. When the car is moving at the permissible speed, the radar detector can be triggered very often, but thanks to the built-in GPS, the device determines the speed of the car and informs about the approach to the signal only if the speed exceeds the permissible one.
Database
The database is designed in such a way that the device warns about approaching the DB point even if it has many access routes or is located around a bend. The device will not give a signal if the car moves along the next street or in another direction.
Sensitivity modes
In this mode it is possible to set the speed of movement for which there will be an appropriate sensitivity of the device. So at the minimum set speed, the sensitivity will be minimum, and at the maximum speed — maximum. When the auto mode is selected, there will be a smooth change in sensitivity.
CAS level
A very important feature that minimizes interference from other vehicles with existing security systems. Thanks to this, the device does not pay attention to signals from these systems, and does not work falsely. Thus without distracting the driver.
