Automotive Articles — DVRs
DVR has become an obligatory accessory for car owners, because it allows you to resolve disputed situations and prove your innocence in possible accidents on the roads. In the choice of DVRs, it is necessary first of all to take into account the recording quality, as well as the level of acceptable image distortion, the strength of the case, the available fixing methods and additional functionality.
The recording quality is determined by the following characteristics:
Matrix. For shooting in Full HD, 2 Mp will suffice. Beginners in the issue of how to choose a DVR, mistakenly prefer 5-megapixel models. And with the growth of the model range, they began to equip the devices with 3 Mp matrices, which before belonged to the category of professional designs.
CPU. A quick response to tasks is one of the main conditions that determine the quality of the final record and the stability of the device. For example, if the selected model is equipped with a low-power processor, it will not be able to record video with a high bitrate. In general, there may be a write loss of up to 5 seconds between multiple files.
Optics. As a rule, plastic optics is used, which can be found in almost all models of DVRs. There are devices with glass lenses that guarantee even better shooting quality in poor lighting conditions.
The viewing angle affects how much of the area is captured in the frame, but you should not chase too much. If you select an angle that is too large, there is a risk of getting a distorted image rounded at the edges.
Choosing DVRs is largely determined by your wishes and preferences. For example, models with a built-in screen will allow you to immediately view the recordings, delete unnecessary and adjust settings. But such devices take up more space.
The reliability of its work depends on the quality of the structure fastening. The larger the sucker, the less distorted the image. Pay attention to the models with the ability to adjust them and sideways, so, for example, to record a conversation with a representative of road services. DVRs can also be secured with a double-sided tape. This option is suitable for those who do not plan to permanently remove the device from the mount.
The DVR can be equipped with additional features. For example, a shock sensor: recording an image during an accident. The presence of a built-in battery will increase the reliability of recording, choose designs with at least 30 minutes of battery life.
